Even for self serving goals and ignoring the future, don’t you need accurate climate models to accurately forecast the weather and issue warnings?
l_b_i@pawb.socialto science•Science under Trump: ‘They want to destroy the scientific system and replace it with something that reflects their ideology’English3·6 days agoThere are a couple as I see it. You have the religious fundamentalists, I think this is mainly seen in the rules and court cases allowing people to be asses backed by religion. They also are trying to push their ideas nationwide, this is at odds sometimes with the next group. You have the anti-federalists, to them anything the federal government does is evil (especially if its not their rules). This is the ripping out of all the federal departments. They don’t see any good coming from them. Any tax is theft, and any money spent is wasted. (military excluded). The third group is similar to group 2, but they are just anti-regulation. “the free market will figure it out”. Now I don’t think any of these groups have good ideas, but the only reason they are doing what they are doing is because they have ideas and have been working on it for a long time.
Fun bit for the west tip of Maryland, that’s a resort area so lots of people from NOVA, DC, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, etc… have vacation homes there, greatly inflating the median home price.
l_b_i@pawb.socialto Technology•The bizarre, dismal page you see if you open YouTube without an account.English4·13 days agoProbably cookies, I did another quick test and created a new profile. The front page was unpopulated. I went to a technology connections video, and the refreshed the front page. It was populated, cleared stored information, (history, cookies, cache, etc…) and when I refreshed the homepage it was blank again.
The fairly default browser I used to take the screenshot is to watch some free with ads movies on youtube, most recently was waterworld, fun to watch, makes no sense.
l_b_i@pawb.socialto Technology•The bizarre, dismal page you see if you open YouTube without an account.English151·13 days agoIts not this simple, it looks like this to me on my fairly locked down browser (firefox), but on a fresh profile (image attached), that page is populated. I assume its a cookie setting, as I see the same behavior when I turn off tracking protection and ad blockers. I didn’t play around beyond that.
This is their FAQ about connectivity, I almost simply linked the page, but realized if you can’t access it, you can’t see the FAQ. https://catbox.moe/faq.php
I couldn’t get one to work, but the penis is very flexible and squish-able and there is a bit of room for it to hide. There is probably a little more room than you think there is to, you can play around and see how “inverted” you can push it without it going all s shaped. They probably work better if there is some fat to hide everything in. A well fitted cage is actually comfortable, there is no pinching, just a uniform light pressure if things need to be held back. I love that pressure.
I’ve never had a ball capture device work in any meaningful way. Uncomfortable, easy to pull out, just generally bad. I have some cheep Chinese full belts, they work way better and are way more comfortable, I image custom stuff might actually be secure.
oh how I wish flat cages worked as well IRL as they do in art.
l_b_i@pawb.socialto Data is Beautiful@mander.xyz•Deficit Between a $35/hr Federal Minimum Wage and Cost of Living of US StatesEnglish3·24 days ago1st the minimum wage absolutely should be raised to a livable amount, but I have some questions and comments about your numbers.
Averages are bad to use as a measure, they are heavy skewed by the top outliers, median is a much better measure.
If you are trying to recover to a target average, the minimum wage would be below the average, that’s how averages work.
I’m trying to figure out where 72k comes from. 1k for rent (Yes I can find 1 bdrm in the city I live near that price), 150 gas/electric, 50 Water/trash, 100 internet, 250 food, 400 transportation, 500 health insurance all adds up to 29k a year.
The late 50s was still under 50% car ownership, a cheep car today is still around 20k.
For your gas, you have it at $5 a gallon for today, national average according to AAA is $3.132
In general a lot of the numbers you have don’t seem to make sense.
rookie numbers (I share an instance with Kolanaki) our old home was shut down a few months ago.
Do you know if they will keep a read only version up?
I think I’ve seen this with audio for both.

You are saying some of that as if it is a bad thing.
I really want to know what this feels like.

yep, that matches better.
