  • In my brain, I listen, identify objective/goal (difficult to do with those who speak in paragraphs), then queue a response but politely wait for my turn.

just like me fr fr. Really listening and responding has to be a conscious choice for me and it requires repetition and practice. When the situation allows for it, writing down what’s on my mind helps a lot.

  • Focus less on the topics and more on what your conversation partner likes to talk about. That way, they’ll be more ready to embark on a topic.

I once tried asking someone “when was the last time you cried in public?”. The conversation turned to an unexpected direction (in a good way). I got to learn more about that person. Bonus if they get to ask you the same question, which gives you the chance to spontaneously start a topic of your own.

  • I don’t know the details, but in principle, the zip compression process tries to identify the textual commonalities between the pages. The more commonalities the 10 pages have, the smaller the zip file will be.

If each page is textually very different, (example, Page 1 is “AB” , Page 2 is “CD”, etc.), it’s possible that the zip file will be larger. It’s because it will contain the full contents of each page, plus the metadata of the zip file.

Anyone more knowledgeable can correct me on this.
