I read it as kneecapping your own game to incentivise people buying mods to disable said handicaps

moonbursterto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Okay, this time I want to ask you, do you feel the same as me, or something similar when you enjoy what was created before AI?1·5 days agoI get what you are saying. Is not what I’m experiencing though.
I literally get gag reflex like symptoms. It’s uncann, but in a more organic way.
First time I experienced this was with the Minecraft genai demo. It looks like mc, it plays like mc, but it doesn’t actually work like it. Whilst I was playing I had to look away multiple times. I think that my brain is expecting something else and just straight up errors out of there when it doesn’t actually follow the core principles. Ai videos tend to have this more often as well
moonbursterto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Okay, this time I want to ask you, do you feel the same as me, or something similar when you enjoy what was created before AI?2·5 days agoReading ai work related stuff is not too bad, it’s quite often reviewed by a human anyway.
Watching ai stuff just fucks too much with my brain. It’s how a cat responds to the sound of tape being pulled ( for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo1FE_i_Zhc)
I feel physically nauseous when I watch ai content too long
Damn that’s a good write up!
Another thing we say often in Dutch is I go to bed. Which works in English too! “Ik ga naar bed”
In Dutch “go” means to go do a thing as well and I use it English in a similar fashion. Never thought of it weird before
moonbursterto Linux@lemmy.ml•Recommend a simple, small cheap laptop < 15" I can chuck in my bag for use in coffee shops!1·7 days agoSucks to hear your experience being so terrible. Either I’m so coloured by the hellish experience of booting Linux on a surface (which is easy, but so many small issues after each update) or booting Linux on a mac is really easy.
BUT
I do agree, get something like a system76 for ease of use. I have dabbled with Linux, custom roms and other “hacky” stuff my whole life. I’m so used to it being hard that the experience these days feels as easy as booting windows
moonbursterto Linux@lemmy.ml•Recommend a simple, small cheap laptop < 15" I can chuck in my bag for use in coffee shops!1·8 days agoDon’t know where you are from, but I got a MacBook Pro 2015 for 150 and it can be forced to the latest macOS or just any distro of your liking. I will say that it can get quite hot and it’s recommended to switch the cooling paste and clean the fan.
For a cheap device it works fine and in this price bracket a better screen is barely possible.
I do have a surface book 2 that I will sell between 150 and 200, but I think Linux support is finicky at best. I ran popos on it, but there are just a bunch of things which would work a lot better on other devices
Fun game, but not actual chess indeed!
I’ve attempted a few, but keep going back to my phone or a pc. I also got a chessnut air (secondhand, otherwise they can be quite pricey), this way I can play online but still on the board.
Might you find a good one to play, please share!
moonbursterto Technology•You can still enable uBlock Origin in Chrome, here is howEnglish2·8 days agoJust install AdGuard. Works great.
I have three. One still fully packaged for when the other two die
Terraria! That game is great and aged like fine wine
Mill some grains to flour and bring that flour to the queen so she can make some loafers
And that’s exactly my point! Same with rice, you can have rice in a few minutes via the microwave. I like to be in control of my food however and quite often choose the longer road so I have better choice in how the rice or potato comes out
As someone who worked in a kitchen quite long, a microwave is a good tool and never the best substitute
How does that feel? I’ve only been at the other end…
moonbursterto Games•What's an absolutely medium quality game? Not great, incredible or terrible or any single ended extreme. Dead medium qualityEnglish1·1 month agoTorchlight 2 is fun when you start out, but gets really repetitive quite fast. Good fit for a right in the middle
I don’t refuse to use other clients, if said clients are usable
Cheap headphones and a connector to make them sound good via Bluetooth pretty much. A lot better sound than AirPods Pro 2 André passive noise cancellation is also enough to drown out most noises
Some chifi buds and a (Bluetooth) dac.
I have a pair of kz prx (planars, 37 bucks) and a hiby w3II (good enough over by and oké over cable, 40). If you don’t need by I will recommend the trn black pearl as it has the same parts as some of its more expensive counterparts
Yeah still don’t agree.
I feel it differently than you describe. I don’t have a “disgust” because it’s not human made, truly I don’t care for most stuff. I would even go as far as saying ai videos that abide the laws of physics 8/10 times don’t do this with me.
It’s like I said, the organic way it sometimes hallucinates random behaviour is what makes it do stuff that is not possible. My brain just get checkmated on expecting something else.
If you feel differently, that’s fine. But what I feel, only I can describe as I actually experience whatever goes on in my head
