I actually really loved rogue one. I just told my mom to watch it as she’s a big Star Wars fan.
Thanks, I think the thrown trilogy was something I’ve seen recommended before.
I think you are probably right about that. I’ve heard there are some good Vader books
I don’t think much will change in 5 years that is not AI.
Everything is focused on AI right now. So just more powerful hardware that is geared towards running ai is all I think that will happen.
One of the problems with removing people from the equation is that there is no way to escalate an issue. I’m guessing it’s by design.
An example of this is the food delivery app in the country where I live. One time a delivery person said the restaurant was closed. The app said it was open but it was a holiday. Neither of us could cancel the order or contact a person to allow the cancelation.
Another instance, a delivery rider had a problem with their bike and asked me to cancel the order, when I told her I could not, she told me to call the restaurant to cancel it.
I don’t think she really had a problem with her bike, but I couldn’t chat with anyone who worked at the app to resolve the issue. She eventually delivered it. I think she just didn’t want to wait for the food to be ready since it wasn’t fast food. I ended up ordering from a different place, and ended up with 2 dinners.
I’d love to see something like the ferengi office.
Walking is OK, but if it rains it easily flood making walking problematic. There is a risk of getting a virus if the water is has infected rat urine in it. That part is unlikely, but you need medication if you get it and I’ve never known anyone personally who got it, but it’s still something to worry about.
The sidewalks are all messed up and anyone with a mobility problem, may not be able to get around without a car. Biking in the street is unsafe as the roads are narrow and the bike lanes overlap with car lanes. In fact on one road, the bike lane is also the car turning lane.
Those bike lanes are not blocked or really even respected. It’s used by motorbikes and even the busses will swing into them.
So, really the only safe way to get around here is by some kind of car or walking, but it’s in the tropics so it’s hot and humid consistently.
Android is Linux… sure.
But it’s not what anyone means when they say they want a Linux phone.
Not really.
I don’t prefer to share where I live, but outside of the cities it can be super rural.
I only drive like 2 times a week. Otherwise I can walk most places luckily.
Do you by chance know if WeChat and Facebook messenger work on it?
Those apps are critical for my work.
That’s pretty cool, I’m working now, but I’m checking out its Android app compatibility.
If it can run my work stuff, I’ll be so happy.
That’s awesome!
I’d love an electric car if I wasn’t living in a third world country.
I don’t have a way to charge them in my condo and the infrastructure outside of the main city here is almost 0 if not actually 0.
I was close to considering one until my wife and I took a trip about 5 hrs outside of the city and I realized that there would have been no way to drive there and back in the electric car.
I guess it would be possible, but I’d have to do a bunch of planning and calling around to secure a place to charge and it might not even be possible if the hotel or destination will not allow it.
Linux has become good enough to replace desktop operating systems.
Now, we are back at square one. I’ll be the first to inaccurately declare, “This will be the year of the Linux phone.”
I love how terraria does crossovers with so many different indie games. Will they do Stardew crossover at some point? that could be interesting.
It’s just making some front end stuff for other people to use to access PDFs on my server that need some level of protection and access control.
So, it’s been pretty easy to verify.
I’m too paranoid about trusting it or even myself to write code that could have irreversible effects.
Thanks for the advice🙏
Ok, that settles it. I’m going to put that on in a moment.
