Honestly idk why you’re getting downvoted it has been public knowledge for YEARS that trump is a chomo. Anyone who is suddenly worked up about it only NOW is just following whatever the media wants them to think about, definitely worthy of the microwave soyjak png.

Unpopular opinion but games with community-driven multiplier (i.e. people hosting their own servers) is infinitely better than matchmaking multiplayer running on the dev/publisher’s servers if only for the sole reason that players have a choice of what kinds of communities they want to build and what things other players should be allowed to do instead of being forced into a sterilized commercial monoculture. I should be able to say “KYS KYS” in game if the people I’m playing with are okay with it.

  • yeah honestly I don’t really care much for AI art and I think the vast majority of it looks kind of creepy in the uncanny valley sense but at least I have the self-awareness to recognize that it is a personal preference. These anti-ai bros seem to have no distinction between “I don’t like <thing>” and “<thing> is unethical” on top of being just generally insufferable pricks so I try to avoid them as much as possible.

  • I’m glad that it works for you but you have to know that it’s not like that for everyone. Last time I tried using MTP I had to write a script that would call rsync in a loop until all files were transfered because every time like one or two files would just mysteriously not make it across the cable.

Also, not me personally, but some people have usecases like playing video files from their phone on their tv or sending files to a printer over the cable. This wouldn’t work with MTP because most “dumb” devices like that don’t support it

  • It’s sad how root is still required on many phones to reach full functionality, yet they makes you jump through hoops to get it.

On my phone I needed root to set a battery charge limit. The rom I’m using only added that functionality natively a few years ago. I still need root to make backups ever since google kneecapped ADB backup. Seriously, do they just expect people to not make backups of the device they use every day!?

Food is fuel and construction material.

I live in the netherlands rn and basically at some point in history there was a guy called Calvin who convinced almost everybody to see food this way. To this day traditional dutch food is the blandest, saddest assortment of dishes imaginable. Thank god for immigrants bringing in some flavour.

My vote is for non-ai. Look at those rocking chairs. They actually make sense. Even the best image models would trip up on complex geometry like that. Also the window on the top right. You can see through to the window on the opposite side of the cabin and see some of the green foliage through it. It looks very “abrupt” in the sense that I don’t think that a model trying to come up with the most statistically likely image would just put a fragment of green in the window like that.

We will enter the post-internet age in our lifetimes, mark my words. People are starting to realize that it is not sustainable to have corporations filter your every word and authoritarian governments hold killswitches at arm’s reach. There is a growing need of a new and independent communication medium built from the ground up for censorship-resistance. And there is no shortage of bright minds to actually implement such a “peoples’ network”. Just look at freifunk, reticulum, etc.

Thirty years ago it was not possible to use a computer without installing proprietary software, but nowadays fully FOSS computing is the everyday reality of millions of people. Thirty years from now it will be possible to access all the world’s knowledge and communicate securely with anyone willing to listen, all without paying a cent to greedy ISPs or having your traffic monitored by government agents. There will be crackdowns and repression, but we will make it through.

  • I really miss USB Mass Storage mode. Back then you could plug in your phone into your computer and it would just expose the internal storage and SD card as standard usb storage devices. Nowadays you have shitty MTP which works barely if ever, so you’re forced to use either internet or ADB for syncing files. Old way was better.

IIRC you can still enable it if you compile your own kernel but I wish more ROMs shipped with this feature by default.

Did you even read my comment? This has nothing to do with personal preference. It’s a matter of defending a shared commons from a hostile force. Sure, an individual gnome user can coexist with an individual kde user, like seriously who cares its just a DE. But as a community, users of other DEs, WMs and compositors can only “coexist” with the gnome project in the same way that a population of humans can “coexist” with the COVID-19 virus

It’s never about the DE’s themselves, it’s about the devs.

KDE’s devs are just focused on making a cool desktop environment with many features. It’s a little buggy and has some weird design decisions, but whatever, no biggie.

GNOME devs deliberately sabbotage existing linux standards in attemps to take control over desktop linux. Examples: client-side decorations, client-side shadows, systray fiasco.

This is not a question of personal preference. It’s a question of keeping desktop linux free, fair, and accessible for everyone.

Huh? How did you go from “people should have equal opportunities” to lynching and firing pregnant women? At this point you’re just saying whatever you want.

Plus, lmao at the hypocrisy of calling DEI a “boogeyman” while simultaneously accusing anyone disagreeing with you a racistsexistlyncher. It’s totally real, you’re proving it yourself.

I guess if he’s getting paid to do the interviews then it’s technically passive… wait no, then the whole interviewer thing would just count as advertising for his vending machine business
