I had an outright argument with one of my own coworkers about this very subject less than six months ago. Even with all of the insane bullshit going on outside today people still just refuse to look up and read any sort of information for themselves.

I just happened to have this handy because I put it in my family group chat when I first saw it lmao
Ok real shit though Naruto is awesome. NTA

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the oldest video game you still find yourself playing?
6·2 days agoAbout once a year or so I go replay Morrowind, the chaddest of the Elder Scrolls series.
This past year I replayed Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt tacked onto it, which has been extremely cool and fresh. TR really feels like official content a lot of the time, it’s quite good and the love that’s been put into it is very apparent.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's the oldest video game you still find yourself playing?
5·2 days agoCurrently playing FFVI myself. It’s a treat.
Bit easier than other Final Fantasy games, I’m finding… at least in the early game, Edgar and Sabin are ass-blasting everything in the game with very little resistance, those boys probably don’t even need the rest of the Returners squad. I know that will probably change later but the duo are definitely the MVPs of act 1.
I’m also of mixed opinion about the ability to teach every party remember every spell in the game. It’s obviously not the best idea, that I can’t stop myself from doing. Does Edgar or Gau need to know how to cast Bio or Slow or Rasp? No, not at all, and they’re probably better served leveling up with magicite that gives them useful stats. Will they learn those spells? You betcha.

1·3 days agoI think they definitely could, you just won’t get one from Tesla because that doesn’t match their brand image.
The Slate trucks seemed like something that was pursuing this idea.

Tesla@lemmy.zip•Tesla Barely Beats Jeep for Least Reliable Used Car, Owner Survey SaysEnglish
1·3 days agoYou may be correct. Unfortunately all I can find are statistics about electric cars vs gas car fires. It is a known fact however that several Model S EV’s have caught fire while just sitting there parked, I haven’t heard of that from any other manufacturer but I haven’t heard all news there is to hear.

Tesla@lemmy.zip•Tesla Barely Beats Jeep for Least Reliable Used Car, Owner Survey SaysEnglish
131·4 days agoIt’s not actually that over the top, Tesla beats the Ford Pinto in percentage of fire-based deaths, a car most well known for catching fire.
control and/or cut it’s data connection to Tesla
To my knowledge you can’t, at least without a level of rewriting the car’s code that you’ll effectively be writing the whole car from scratch. Just buy a different brand, literally any other brand of electric car.
Since it’s used, I’m not giving Musk any money,
The moment you need any replacement parts you’re giving Musk money. Tesla does not provide repair parts to repair shops. I work at a repair shop, ask me how I know. If you call them and request a part they will tell you to bring the car to them and then hang up on you, so, hope your car never needs maintenance because it isn’t getting any outside of a Tesla shop.
Even if we could get parts we still refuse service on Teslas at my shop because they’re such a liability risk.
Which is a very human thing to be. Animals don’t operate on hatred.
We are both the best and the worst that this world has to offer.

2·6 days agoWell this particular guy was entrapped and arrested on false pretenses. He didn’t know ICE was at the door.
Otherwise, though, yeah agreed. If masked assailants come to my home with no badge and no warrant they are going to be considered home invaders and will be treated accordingly. Identify yourself or you will be shot.
I am happy to pay it so long as I have any sort of expectation that I will see a return from it.
It is becoming increasingly clear to working Americans that we will never see a dollar back out of the Social Security program when it comes time for us to need it.

Fuck AI•Fucking seriously ruining the general web in terms of looking up information.
51·7 days agoYes, actually. I know Kagi in particular has a fediverse “lens” that filters results to things found here. Unsure if anyone else has implemented that yet, or how deeply it scrapes fedi for results, but it’s there.
Regardless everything that is posted here is publicly visible so any search engine that wanted to could scrape results from here.

News•Minneapolis police chief warns officers: Stop unlawful force by ICE or lose your job
2318·7 days agoBecause they’re still literally not doing their jobs.
As an example, let’s say I flip burgers for a living. You come in to my restaurant and order a cheeseburger. I then proceed to slap a hunk of raw ground beef and a slice of cheese down right on the counter in front of you. That’ll be $8.50, pay up.
You aren’t going to say “that’s progress!” you’re going to say “that’s not a fucking cheeseburger”.
Same here. Yeah, it is progress forward from the literal nothing that they were doing before. It still is not satisfactory progress that satisfies the basic job requirements of their chosen career.

On our right hand we have a party aggressively campaigning that they should be allowed to shoot you in the face. Yes, you, personally.
I hope you have the day you vote for.
