If organized, the billionaires lose. It’s really that simple and that difficult.

But will any of the immovable 40% who voted for this start to question our embrace of cruelty on a national level? Meh…Look at the baubles!
To clarify, the incest didn’t SHOCK me. Kids out of windows did.
Splountto Ask Lemmy•What's a really popular TV show you just couldn't get into?English142·3 months agoGame of Thrones.
The incest didn’t bother me, but pushing a child out a window hit the wrong note with me and my wife.
Jesus, that’s depressing, considering how long Franco was in power.
Rump might live off McDs but he also doesn’t drink and gets regular movement (can you call golf exercise?) Its very possible he could plague us for another ten years.
Splountto Mental Health•What's something nice you're going to do this weekend? However big or smallEnglish2·4 months agoDirt therapy, which is mostly weeding at this point, and some Stardew Valley. It is not lost on me that these are both farm related. It would be cool if I could mix the two, although I’m not sure I would want to enslave Junimos IRL. However, it might be fun to explore a nearby cave or hang out with a local wizard.

The word trivia comes from Latin. In Roman times people would place signs with interesting tidbits about their nearby town where roads meet as a way of luring travellers to their town. Tri means three and via is road. So trivia are useless and entertaing facts originally found at the confluence of three roads.
Splountto No Stupid Questions•How did people end-up agreeing on the name of rivers/mountains and seas ?English7·7 months agoI recognize that you are asking about European place names but how humans named things in North America might give some insight. A really great book on how places got their names in the US is Names on the Land: a historical account of place-naming in the United States by George R. Stewart (ISBN 978-1-59017-273-5).

Oh, IDK maybe “viewed from Mt. Rainier” was an indication? But I’ll now concede it could be shot anywhere near Rainier.
