Not really. The code can be slow, even if I do not run it. Also, sometimes additional code can do optimization (like caching), which is more code = faster. Or additional libraries, complexity and code paths can in example add multicore execution, which could speed up. So, I do not buy the less code is faster logic.
I think the guys starting the project were new. They might have hired experts along the way.
I do not wait because of the state of the launch. I wait, because game will improve over time through updates. Like whatever bugs are ironed out, new features and balance changes and such. Rarely a single player game gets worse over time. In example FSR4 was added now, arguable making the game better than before, as this is the superior technology for this kind of thing on AMD hardware.
I guess it makes sense. What I struggled with is, as the type is unusable basically and I didn’t like the idea it being a type. But for documentation reasons, it makes sense. Otherwise, it has no practical meaning. Even a comment could have the same effect.
To me it makes no sense. Because if it never returns, then it has no return value. Therefore it makes no sense to have a type for something that does not exist.
And it’s their first game. A truly WTF moment in gaming history… in a good way I mean.
I will be one of those who play the game later in its best state. Like I did with Cyberpunk 2077. :D I just wait until more features are added and bugs get fixed.

I don’t understand why this never type was introduced at all. Instead functions not returning, shouldn’t Rust enforce returning from function and instead use a None in place of never type? Otherwise how will the “Unwinding” of program flow implemented?
Well, no need to websearch. Just go to the website and look for any official links, such as the wiki. As for the optimized packages, I found this on their website:
CachyOS does compile packages with the x86-64-v3, x86-64-v4 and Zen4 instruction set and LTO to provide a higher performance. Core packages also get PGO or BOLT optimization.
So the listed CPUs in the requirements list should take advantage of this I guess. And my assumption is, that these CPUs are required to run the packages at all. Maybe that’s where the “newer machines” is meant with.
Who says CachyOS is mostly for newer machines?? I don’t know why anyone would make such a claim. At least on their website, no such claim can be found. The official system requirements are listed at https://wiki.cachyos.org/installation/installation_prepare/ , you can switch between minimum and recommended set.
I was on Manjaro before too and can recommend the switch to EndeavourOS too.
I knew it would be this. There was no other way, as it would be too sudden. Still little bit clickbaity, but I let it pass, because this is not a YouTube video or blog post for clicks and advertisement money.

One of the few rare moments of W for Firefox. Translating complete pages locally is huge in my opinion. This is an acceptable use case for integrated local Ai functionality.
In example sometimes I see people link to my blog from various forums or blog posts that are sometimes not in a language I understand. Being able to translate the page is so helpful, without using Google or any other online tool.
I don’t care most of the stuff that they added or changed. And I don’t like having so much ai integrated into the browser. However there is one ai feature I wish would be included: automatic adding keywords for search, when saving bookmarks. It could lookup the content and try to add some keywords on its own, that would be helpful. I’m really bad at adding keywords myself, usually I don’t do that.
Edit: BTW I don’t mean just some keywords found on the page, but trying to logically understand the text and add other keywords not found on the page.
Agreed. Also the words “Classi:c” and “Classi:fied” have lot in common. :-)
