I bought an old boat in Amsterdam (3000€), did some reparations (500€), replaced the engine (1500€), paid the local tax (600€ x 3years). I had fun with it. No regrets. Then I was moving back to my country, I couldn’t find a buyer… so I lowered the price to 1500€.

You were great, old boat. But not a great investment.

and when iPhone 4 was released, Apple also explained it had the perfect size because you could reach any part of the screen with your thumb while holding it in your hand… but also, antennagate. Steve Jobs was full of crap.

  • Call me a hardcore Spotify fan boy: I paid for Spotify for 15 years, I loved it, I even applied to worked for them. The product was great and unmatched so as I didn’t care about the problems, so many problems. things were getting progressively more problematic but in the end, King Gizzard convinced me to quit. I don’t regret it a single minute. Fuck Spotify.

if you ask the French, a biscuit is a kind of gâteau (cake) and mostly refer to dry biscuits. The etymology of Biscuit (bi = two, cuit = cooked), means that it would spend twice longer in the oven, hence its dryness. So, macarons are cakes, not biscuits, because they are not dry. BUT! there are many kinds of macarons and some more traditional are actually quite dry (example here: https://www.macaron-de-nancy.com/fr/92-le-macaron). So it depends which ones you’re thinking of.

There was this one time when I needed to replace a specific part of a dog bike trailer. I contacted the company: the creator of the trailer, who happened to live in my neighbourhood came to my place to give me a piece from the prototype he still had in his workshop. Shop local!
