1·2 days agoCan’t we, please, have just a fast com port with 5V? Everything else should be made programmatically, without touching the hardware. A cable should be just a cable. A few wires, nothing more.

It doesn’t mean that RAM won’t be there. Remember microwave ovens from 30 years ago? 2 electromechanical switches: power and timer. That’s all that is needed. And look at modern microwaves now… Interesting how much RAM they have already. 64 KiB? 8 MiB? More?
Miscrosoft is actively dismissing programmers. They might still have an ability to pile up some shit on the top of the codehill, but not to write new code.
This is important. This is the only reason why Windows still exists. If it would stop running old software there wouldn’t be any reason to stay on Windows. Because Linux/Wine in many cases can already do it.
