Pixel 8 devices are the only recommended devices that have “minimum 7 years support and hardware memory tagging support”. I’d personally go with an 8 Pro. The GrapheneOS Usage guide can answer most remaining questions.

If you’re going to wipe your phone anyway, may as well start with GrapheneOS and test your banking apps before setting up everything else to see if it will work for you. You can always revert to stock and flash LineageOS instead if they don’t.

At risk of being offtopic, but why would you use this over LibreWolf or hardened Firefox? I personally wouldn’t pay for a proprietary plugin that is replaceable by open source software that performs the same functions.

You have to set privacy.resistFingerprinting to “false”. If you have another extension to make up for that, minus the refresh rate inhibition, you should be fine.
vim_b@lemmy.mlto Linux@lemmy.ml•Why do people still recommend Thinkpads for Linux when there are Linux-oriented manufacturers now?English4·2 years agoI opted for the Fir model, knowing version 2 would probably be 5–7 years away. My wife joked that we would have a school-age child before I got it… except it’s slowly becoming not a joke (and we didn’t even have kids when I preordered).

Each time I went from feeling awake and alert to suddenly being somewhere else and feeling groggy and hungry. Nothing strange otherwise.
