I take issue with the first description of the first one. It is an evolution from what was courage wolf. Courage wolf was a meme template where the top line set up the situation and the bottom showed how you courageously did something in response.

People then took it to the next level with insanity wolf, the one depicted here. The top line is the same, setting up some kind of situation. But the bottom line changed to doing something absolutely insane that no person would ever ever do in real life.

The 8th one, with the lady crying, is definitely wrong. It was a first-world problems, something people wirh comfy lives would complain that are not a real problem.

That’s basically what it says, just worded differently.

That was my thought at first. I think what they mean by “something a third-world person would like to complain about” is more like “someone from a third world country wishes they had those kinds of problems instead of the ones they do”

A time when memes were fun and goofy. Now it’s all smug-looking wojaks. Can’t we all agree to go back to those days?

For some reason the link posted by Ghostalmedia worked for me but the link posted by the bot didn’t. Can anyone explain why? Is it just because I’m on the lemmy.world instance?

If the bot link doesn’t work it’s more likely a client issue I would assume (the app or browser you’re using)

I’m also not quite sure of how it works yet but at least the first part is correct i think. The full link worked for you because its to the instance your account is on. When i use that link (on the desktop website) i get redirected to that site but i don’t have an account there so i cant interact with it on this account. Similarly: if I link https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/c/[email protected] it will work for me without problems but you should see a website where you aren’t logged in (at least using the website, mobile apps might handle it differently i think).

(Although i have no idea why the exclamation mark link didn’t work for you, it did work for me at least. Maybe its the app you are using? I remember that for example some old jerboa version had problems with the exclamation mark links where it would just crash when you tried to use them.)

Yep turns out you’re right, the Connect app seems to work with all the http links whereas the ! links don’t work. On the Jerboa app it’s the opposite so the ! links work but the http links don’t.

      History became legend.

      Legend became myth.

And for two and a half thousand years, Foul Bachelor Frog passed out of all knowledge.

Maybe it’s because I’m an asshole. Still waiting to see one of those memes pop up.

Yea I remember that. His sisters drug addicted boyfriend if my memory serves. He said he laced it and the cops ruled it an overdoes. Not sure it was ever verified but there was definately backlash

Far too many people are using confession bear to gather sympathy for non-confessions

“My boss told me to kill 52 orphans and yell racial slurs at black people but I told him to fuck off, even though you shouldn’t swear. (Now please go ahead and tell me how good of a person I actually am)”
