Ricky B. hires Jeri Ryan just to be eye candy and this gal turned her into one of the deepest characters on the show. We lost another meaningful part of Trek history.

    Rest among the stars, Jeri.

Jeri Ryan was the actress for Seven of Nine, Jeri Taylor was a writer and producer.

Right, Jeri Ryan did a great job portraying Seven, but her character was created by Rick Berman to be eye candy.

Jeri Taylor was able to take that character that was able to write and produce much more for that character.

Iirc, my stepdad got to meet her back when he worked on Voyager. I might need to ask him to tell me about that again, though, and if he has any interesting stories to tell.

Mostly post production, which involved stuff like adding in phaser effects and stuff. Mom too, technically, but I think she was mostly handling tapes (a job that doesn’t even exist now, haha).

That’s awesome! Please share any fun stories.

In fact, as a representative of the mods, I think I can safely say that we would all love it if you made a separate post to tell those stories!

I’m more of a commenter than a poster but I’ll keep that in mind. I don’t remember enough of his stories and don’t see him that often, although post production isn’t as cool as being in studio (I do remember Arnold Schwarzenegger parked his Hummer in front for some reason, I think they shared a building with his office or something. But I was like, 8, so selective memory is a thing lol).

That’s fine. If you do ever feel like getting some stories and sharing, I’m sure it will be very well-received.

I’m sorry to hear that. Jeri Taylor went to Indiana University in my home town of Bloomington, Indiana. That’s why Janeway was born there. She put the place I was born and raised into the future and I will be forever grateful to her for that as much as I am for her Star Trek contributions.

Yeah, I can’t say I love it, but I guess that’s what you get when you have to pay for it with crowdfunding. A cheaper artist.
