I hope it’s ok to ask questions here…
So, here’s a thread: https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]/t/48054/Skeptic-A-community-for-critical-takes-on-pseudoscience-quackery-and
In that thread, there’s a link to a lemmy community ([email protected]) if I click that link, it takes me to the lemmy.world website.
How can I find and subscribe to that community from within kbin?
I tried going to kbin.social/m/[email protected] but that doesn’t work. Searching for skeptic results in a bunch of posts and comments.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I just figured it out. The correct formatting is
kbin.social/m/[email protected]
Still, is there a way to filter search results to only show communities?
Replace the ! with an @ and search with the search bar.
@[email protected]edit: added link as text was butchered in translation
Thank you. Your link is all messed up for me though, it shows as: https://kbin.social/m/quickstart/t/51597/www.kbin.com/m/@[email protected]
I’ve no idea what’s going on, but I got what you meant. Cheers.
Yeah I’m not sure what the link issue is I’m trying to figure it out myself as that is not the link I have entered. The link should be without quotes “kbin.social/m/[email protected]” see the attached screenshot. Not sure why the link is being translated from what it is entered as.
Trying something:
[@[email protected]](kbin.social/m/skeptic@lemmy.world)
@[email protected][.world](http://kbin.social/m/skeptic.world)
@[email protected][.world](https://kbin.social/m/skeptic.world)
@[email protected]edit: I guess you need to add protocol at the front for the link
What is happening!? Both of your last links work ONLY IF I open them in a new tab (middle click). If I click on them directly they do not work and go to (https://kbin.social/u/)
Testing: @skeptic
This is so weird.
Simply typing “(at)skeptic(at)lemmy.world” turns it into a link that seems to be correct, pointing to (https://kbin.social/m/[email protected]) - see above
HOWEVER, if I click directly on the link, for some reason it takes me to a user profile that doesn’t exist (https://kbin.social/u/@[email protected])
BUT if I middle click the link to open in a new tab, it correctly goes to (https://kbin.social/m/[email protected])
I have no idea what is happening or where to report this behaviour.
