The Dwarven Host will soon be with us but we wanted to show the next set coming to Classic Fantasy Battles: The Boneblades!
Unlike the initial two releases for CFB - which featured a full frame that included a variety of unit types for one race - future releases for CFB will be unit-based. When I say "unit" I mean 9 40mm x 20mm bases of the same type of troop (as shown below).
The reason for this approach is to give you a great deal of customizability in building your armies. Remember, as CFB is launched the focus will be Good vs Evil armies - so you can take any appropriate (Good or Evil or one of the ones that can be either) units into your army.
Then, over time, as we release more of the Undead units, you will be able to build a full Undead army as well!
This hard plastic box set includes 117 figures and bases from which you can build:
108 Skeletons with Sword and Shield (9 bases)
3 2-Skeleton Command
3 Casualties
and 48 skulls!
Tooling (as you can see below) is finished, the molds are due for injection, the box is designed and off to the printer, and we will have these out to you in short order!
See you next time!
The consensus in my local circles is that the minis are cool, but the historical wargamers tend to be interested in 15mm primarily already. They aren’t willing to switch to a slightly different scale even if the WGA minis are cool.
I think it’s the same with whatever fantasy large scale wargamers exist. The 10mm-ish scale just seems like an odd choice.
