So I’m hoping this is the right place for this, but I think i have a problem that y’all can help with. I have a 3.5-4ft ball python (Oli Syyyykes) in a 40 gal wide glass tank. Ik its too small, but im actively looking for a bettet enclosure for her. So. My question is can I take 2 40gal wide tanks and use aquarium silicone to somehow connect the 2 and make a massive space for her? I know that I would need to make a custom lid and it would probably need a support bar across the top. What do y’all think? Is this a ridiculous stoner idea? TIA

Is the reason snakes need a certain amount of space simply to be able to move about?

If it is about anything else like air flow, being able to stretch/curl up in certain shapes, or being able to get a certain distance from the edges, then two small tanks connected together are not necessarily equivalent to one larger one.

She has room to move but shes def big enough to need more thab what she has. The PVC idea is fantastic bc i can make one a warm side and the other cool so she can stretch out regardless of temp

Shes a pretty thick snake - probably a bit bigger than s soda can sized around. Do you think cutting that big of a hole would cause stuctrual issues?
