my biggest takeaway is that the production is top notch. I especially love that they tried to keep the 70’s analog aesthetic without looking cheap ( i wish star trek did more of this with their TOS-era shows). so far i find the story a bit lacking, but it is only two episodes.

I like it so far. I get the reasoning for them using kids because they can be groomed and trained and the official reason they gave the kids (i.e. adults’ brains are too “stiff”) is likely BS, but man will they be unreliable for missions until their brains “mature”. I know sending them out this early wasn’t planned, but I guess they’re testing in production lol. I also found it funny that the xenomorph is so quick with killing multiple randos at the same time, but takes its time with main characters.

As for the production quality, my only issues are:

    • Quick cuts editing style - It’s cool yeah, but it kinda gave me a headache. Maybe I need to watch it earlier in the day when my eyes aren’t tired yet.
    • Cheap jumpscares - We’re already in the Alien universe, I don’t think they need to rely on cheap jumpscares too much. Once in a while sure, but it kinda gets repetitive after a while.
