It’s honestly fucking disgusting how they’ll swarm people going through their lowest points in life as an opportunity to “convert” someone

Seriously. When my mom got cancer and ultimately passed, my dad turned to religion. When he passed a couple years later his reverend was there. He got down on one knee to talk to my brothers, 14 and 15 at the time, and told them that if they don’t accept jesus as their lord and saviour they’ll never see their parents again. It was less than an hour after he passed, while we were still in the hospital room with my dad’s body. I don’t think I could come up with something that fucked up to say to a couple kids who had just lost their last parent if I tried.

Funerals are one of the worst places for well-intentioned but tone-deaf and hurtful “support.”

At my grandma’s funeral, the preacher started with, some people think a cardinal is a loved one coming back to visit, well it’s not! Your loved ones are dead and the only way you’ll see them again is to go to church!

Even some of my religious family members were pissed.

They have to prey on the vulnerable. Only the vulnerable will allow themselves to be exploited- too young or too desperate or too indoctrinated.

Because it’s all about exploitation control.
