If you hate socks and never wear them, you’re welcome to pipe in with that. Im hoping folks will have brands they can either recommend or give warnings about.

I live in socks, only take them off to swim/shower. Idk why my feet feel uncomfortable nekkid.

Been having trouble finding good ankle socks. The cheap hanes or fruit of the loom are too scratchy. I tried getting some higher priced ones off Amazon (I know) but the last order was a knock off that pinched my ankles.

My socks wear out at the heels. I’ve tried darning them but I suck at it.

How do you feel about under armour ankle socks? I know they’re a little pricey but I feel like they’re super soft and durable.

Does darning include patching? I feel like a good heel patch is strong and can be fun/cute too!

I’ve never even heard of under Armour. Nor am I familiar with how to patch socks. I’ll have to look into both. I do really hate sewing though.

I hate socks myself. I extend sandal season as long as I can.

That being said, in the colder months, I’ve slowly built up my wool sock supply. While I have a few brands, Darn Tough make amazing socks. They are pricey, but I’ve pairs years old that still fit like new. They are hands down the most comfortable socks I’ve owned.

I read your comment about preferring ankle socks, they do have womens ankle socks, usually a wool blend, might be worth it for you to try a pair and see how you like them.

Like you, OP, I can’t stand not wearing socks. I wear exclusively ankle socks unless I’m going to do winter activities and then it’s time for snowboard socks.

Honestly, the puma ones from Costco have been my go-to for a number of years for the ankle socks. Darn tough has my vote for snowboard socks

Are you me? I’m barefoot all the time at home and if I have to wear socks, I prefer ankle socks. I also like the pumas from Costco.

I’m a knitter, but it turns out I dislike the process of knitting socks, and I don’t like how they feel when I put them on anyway so I guess that’s good. (I tried twice before swearing off knitting socks.)

Wigwam brand socks for everything. I bought a couple pairs for a remote bush job that lasted me, and I’m not exaggerating, eight years. Another pair I had for five years but lost them, not a single hole. That’s wearing them at least every other week -and- heavy use with steeltoe boots.

I will not buy other socks. Unless they’re cute.

Anything wool, be it merino or alpaca. They breathe amazingly on hot days and are warm and cozy on cold days. Paka and Darn Tough are my faves.

My routine is to shower before bed and moisturize my feet with lotion and slip on socks. I seem to think this helps trap the moisture. I tend to just wear whatever nice quality 100% cotton socks I can find, usually “long” socks that go above the ankle (I guess they’re called crew socks). That’s mostly so I don’t accidentally rub them off my feet while I’m asleep.

I’m always having trouble finding nice socks. I found some really nice, thick cotton socks in a small boutique while walking around in Portland, OR but I don’t know the brand or whether I could find them anywhere. They were expensive but they’re holding up better than other socks I own, so far anyway.

Like you, I wear out the socks and get holes in the heels or ball area, and I never have enough time to repair them properly (so of course I hoard them in a bin full of mismatched holey socks that someday I swear I will get to repairing - you know, when I “have time”).

I thought the socks I bought from Pact were too thin for my purposes, but they do have nice cotton socks (I got some with strawberries on them! 🍓🧦✨).

For me, I think it depends on where I’m at. If I’m someplace warm, I’m more likely to be barefoot at home and sandaled outside, but for cooler places I have all of the socks!

Thigh high, knee high, crew cuts, ankle socks, cozy cotton and a growing wool collection, lots of compression socks, rotate through all of them.

I really love my under armour ankle socks, and all of my smart wool too (ankle and crew). I used to get gold toe socks, they lasted a long time but I hear they’ve dropped in quality. I have some darn tuff socks which I do like and are very durable but the texture isn’t the best for me. I’ve been curious to try Bombas, I hear they are comfy and have a decent return policy (plus their donation system seems like a good one).

Sorry, I hope that wasn’t too much of a spiel!

I recently got new shoes (running shoes but they’re basically the only shoes I wear) and the backs by the heel are higher. So I’m looking for socks that have a higher heel so they don’t rub. I bought one set but then couldn’t buy more because the online payment system was broken.

I don’t wear socks to sleep but basically wear them the rest of the time.

My socks have cartoon fruit on them like these socks

It makes me smile and reminds me to eat fruit daily hahaha. I also have Darn Tough wool socks for winter.
