Hello!

I tried a lot of other Lemmy apps, and the browser version, and none of them quite worked. But so far, Voyager seems to work well, and the settings are easy to navigate, even for a luddite like me. Good stuff. Keep up the good work! 👍

You should leave a review on the App Store too. Most reviews nowadays are negative as people tend to only write something when they’re upset or if they had something really good happen, like the devs giving them a million bucks.

Definitely need to ensure the reviews are balanced :)

I’ll do that, yeah. BTW just as I posted this, the app seized up and I had to try 5 times haha. It’s also a little slow to load when opening the app, but it’s still better than the others, and hopefully these issues will be fixed at some point. I understand it’s moved to a new system (?) piefed or something? I guess that would need some tinkering to get it really smooth.

This post is taking multiple attempts to post too. sigh

That’s good to hear! I’m not a dev of this or anything, just another user who loves what Voyager is for browsing Lemmy. Like the other person said, Piefed is just something new they’ve added but doesn’t really affect how we connect to Lemmy. It’s kind of like if an app was created that allowed you to access your bank and another bank in the same app. Piefed is another platform similar to Lemmy.

Yeah, Voyager still has some little hiccups here and there. The devs are pretty responsive to issues and requests though. I’m on iPhone and find that closing and restarting the app typically fixes those little glitches, at least temporarily.

Voyager just added support for piefed, which is another server software. Lemmy.world (your instance) runs lemmy

Wow! Voyager was my first ActivityPub app, and I installed other apps to use PieFed — Interstellar (new, kinda buggy but very responsive devs) and Summit (solid, nice ux). Just learned Voyager supports PF now. Thanks!

Voyager also has a WebUI that you can access at
    vger.app

After I lost Apollo for Reddit, Voyager was my savior for Lemmy. :'-]

Same! I think Voyager is a huge reason I stayed on Lemmy. I’m not convinced I’d be here if it wasn’t for the smooth transition from Apollo -> Voyager.

When Lemmy apps first started gaining traction, I tried a bunch out. The other one I used the most was Jerboa…I think it was the first one. It worked fine initially but then got buggy as fuck and almost unusable at one point in time. Hopped around several apps and a lot of them were also buggy (but slightly less so than Jerboa), missing features, or visually far too busy or unappealing.

Been using Voyager (originally wefwef) since and I’ve love it. Simple, aesthetic viewing combined with fantastic functionality and essentially zero bugs. I’m sticking with it.

The only feature of Sync that I really miss is the ability to insert gifs. That’s half of what I usually post, which isn’t great, I know, but it’s my thing so please don’t judge
