I have 2 favorite outfits that are COMPLETELY different from one another. One is what I use for appointments when I want to look cute but put together, and the other is for when I go to a gay bar lol

Well, yes, we all do don’t we?

If I’m going to see someone I’m attracted to I’ll wear nicer undies too, just in case :-P

How I dress for work vs any other moment in my life. I stumbled into a local government job somehow and had to reshape my insane, mostly thrifted and/or hand-made, wardrobe in order to pass at work. I don’t hide the tattoos or septum piercing but I did tone down the hairstyles and outfit choices, at least in the beginning.

As I’ve gotten some time and seniority under my belt, my true style has started to leak through and I look more like a witchy Edwardian librarian from an Art Nouveau/Steam Punk fever dream every day lol

Out with friends and I’m in my full, flowy, antique witch vibe glory. When I’m home, it’s comfy pj coded clothing always.

I think it’s mostly situational, aka where I’m going rather than who I’m seeing. Work vs casual coffee vs night out.

This covers me. I change how I dress by circumstance, not by person (except insofar as people are often paired with circumstance).

    Of course. Very much so.

    • I’ll almost always change out of pajama pants into regular pants when I go out or have a guest.
    • I usually wear clean clothes if I expect to interact with somebody who I know I’ll see again, especially if it’s one of my doctors.
    • I might avoid wearing clothes with a stain if I’m expecting close or prolonged interaction or know I’m likely to be judged (most social settings which aren’t outdoors).
    • I will avoid looking too put-together if I’m fishing/boating.
    • I might dress in clean, lint-rolled clothing if I don’t see someone often and know that it will matter to them (mostly friends and relatives who are infrequently seen).
    • I will dress in clean, fancy attire for major events like weddings, funerals, and other formal situations.
    • I will change back into comfy clothes as soon as I get home if I am alone or very comfortable with my guest(s).
    • I will wear a costume at a costumed event.

It’s was a little different before I became disabled, but mostly just by increasing my done-upedness by a step or so.

If it’s not just for groceries but a social event or meet up with friends I may put on something fancier, but other than that I don’t really vary things with intention.

Yes, I’m a typical jeans and nerdy t-shirt kind of gal mostly. But if I’m seeing friends, it might be a skirt and nerdy t-shirt. Work is jeans or skirt with plain t-shirt and a sweater. Often on the weekend, I’ll wear dresses if meeting up with friends. Unless I’m going thrift store shopping, then it’s jeans and a nerdy tshirt again lol

And that’s not even getting into my at home vs not at home clothes.
