TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name•Replace One Word In A Star Trek Quote With Sausage
5·14 hours agoWhat the hell are we going to sausage now?
I welcome other’s input but I thought this was a pretty clear cut case of Mac becoming popular. Why write a program for Windows and Mac when you can just make a website. Then Chromebooks in education sealed the deal.
Linux is only starting mainstream use now because of Europe’s push for digital sovereignty and windows 10 end of life.

31·2 days agoI saw you can run old versions of Microsoft office via wine for free, is that technically legal such that they can do that?
3rd world. Anyone that uses the old definiton is being intentionally obtuse. And annoying.
I exhaled sharply.
JFC I have to be more specific? A law that defines allowable products is a law. A ban is a ban. If you want to ban a COMPANY that’s a ban on the COMPANY. not a LAW that defines allowable products.
Do you seriously think a company that has to adjust something just throws their arms up and says “Oh I guess we’re banned”? When the EU required USB-C ports did Apple just say “fuck I guess we’re banned, we’ll withdraw from the EU and lose all that revenue” or did they just put in a USB-C port. JFC. That law did not ban Apple the COMPANY.
JFC I’m leaving this conversation.
A law is a law, a ban is a ban. JFC.
And no they won’t go away if all they can do is post ads JFC.

World News•X axes European Commission’s ad account after €120M EU fineEnglish
11·3 days agoEuropean operations are already subject to European laws.
“Your ad account has been terminated,” X’s head of product, Nikita Bier, wrote on the platform early Sunday.
Bier accused the EU executive of trying to amplify its own social media post about the fine on X by trying “to take advantage of an exploit in our Ad Composer — to post a link that deceives users into thinking it’s a video and to artificially increase its reach.”
