I love Picard and TNG, but loved the X-men and Xavier long long before I ever watched Trek
And there is a official crossover that occurred long before Sir Patrick Stewart starred in the movies.
Sir Patrick was destined to play Xavier the moment that character was first drawn, McAvoy did a great job IMO but Stewart in the first X-Men movie was like watching my favorite cartoon become real life for me.
Before Picard season 1 was in production, McAvoy (not sure if he was serious) said he’d like to play a young Jean-Luc.
Fuck it let him give it a shot, he’s talented and charismatic enough to pull it off
But what age range would this be? Can’t be a child. We already got that.

This would explain why the 20th Century Fox X-Men movies never quite matched the comics or cartoons. For example, Picard couldn’t remember the uniform colors, so he just riffed on a variations of uniforms he knew.

EDIT: In case you forgot or were unaware, Famke Janssen played Kamala in “The Perfect Mate” as well as Jean Grey in the original X-Men trilogy.
