Good headline. Projection is a favourite rhetorical trope of the fascists.

      Arguably, all of Musk’s DOGE bros, Musk himself, and Nigel Farage.

      Edit: And, of course, Scott Bessent.

    Projection, like always. I do like the Guardian headline though, reveals that fact without the need of openly stating it.

    If you average the faces of Orban and Vance you get the right amount of chin, the right amount of forehead, but way too much cheek material

      Same headline, but not the same journalist and not the same story.
      IDK why they would post 2 stories with the same headline.

    To be fair. I absolutely hate Orban, but I do think the EU is trying to influence the election. As are Russia and the US. Everyone is trying to look after their own interests.

      I sure hope they do. There is blatant unashamed influence from Russia and the US in our everyday politics. In the last years they don’t even try to hide it, Orban and his cronies just went full russian lapdog style in the last election cycle. It would be time the EU counters this with some pro eu talking points because you wouldn’t believe how much lies an average hungarian sees day to day. They are just straight up lying to your face and if you point out the lies you get called an Ukrainian spy or a traitor. Ukraine has millions of spies in the country apparently.

      their own interests.

      To be fair Hungary signed up to be a full EU member, but then went rogue. So, I feel EU should have some say in the matter. Also, as I see it, for Hungary there are only two choices now;

      • Orbán wins and Hungary becomes a full fledged Ruzzia satellite state like Belarus, and they’ll end up ousted from the EU.
      • Magyar wins and they have a chance to rehabilitate themselves as a good EU member in time.

      Finally, I’d argue that the interest of Hungary lies not with Orbán.

        Let’s not forget Magyar was FIDESZ as well, so don’t give hold your breath. Though he can’t be worse than Orbán.

          Magyar was FIDESZ

          Yips, I recently saw an interview with a Hungarian whom was planning on voting for Magyar hoping that it will prove the “better” choice.

          iirc, Magyar dropped Fidesz after Magyars wife was allegedly falsely accused for fraude or something, like 2-3 years ago or so.

          #add just looked it up, apperantly now ex-wife it’s a complete shitshow even more then before if that’s possible.

            Judit Varga, ex-Minister of Justice, gave an official pardon to a known pedophile. After the fact Magyar filed for divorce, left Fidesz and established his own party called Tisza(name of a hungarian river, abbreviated from “tisztelet és szabadság” meaning respect and freedom). Many politicians from Fidesz and many ousted Fidesz politicians went to Tisza. We can only hope they would do things differently but they are the only hope because the old opposition is a joke. Hungarian lore is just wild.
